Frequently Asked Questions

Hey everyone!

What a whirlwind week it has been! In case you missed them, we were featured in 3 separate articles this week. Bill Babbit wrote about us in Drink up Columbus, Dan Eaton did a feature on us for Columbus Business First, and JD Malone wrote a piece for the Columbus Dispatch. It was a great week for us, and we think it’s safe to say that people know we’re here now.

In fact, we’ve picked up quite a lot of followers this week so we thought that maybe we should take a week and try to answer some of our most Frequently Asked Questions.

1.What’s the deal with your hours?

Well guys, right now we’re still brewing on a 1bbl system. That means that we’re limited to brewing 2 kegs at a time. We’re brewing furiously to keep our beer on tap, but we need to limit our hours at this point until we have more brewing capacity.  We’ve added 2 more fermenters for our pilot system this week, and our 15bbl system will be in house sometime this month. As soon as we can, we’ll be working to expand our hours from Saturdays to more days in the week. When our 15bbl system is up and running we’re anticipating a 6 day operation

2. Do you only serve beer?

We will serve our delicious craft beer brewed on site at Trek. While we’re still working to bring our 15bbl system online we’ll also be serving guest taps from other awesome Ohio breweries. If beer isn’t your thing, we’re serving wine right now, and eventually will serve cider as well. We also have a limited selection of sodas available for purchase.

3. Do you have food?

We will have a limited in-house menu of sandwiches, and a few different snacks. Currently we will have food trucks onsite, you can bring in your own food, or you can order delivery from one of the several awesome local restaurants.

4. What are you doing with all that space? That’s a huge building!

We’re doing awesome things! Most of the old kitchen is the brewery area now, though we’ve retained some kitchen space for future kitchen expansion. We’ve got a large taproom with an outdoor patio space. We’ve also got a banquet room that you can rent out for your special event or meeting!

5. Why did you move from Seattle to here?

We’ve written about this extensively on the blog. We’re here because this is home. We’re wanting to create community focused brewery that will both build and serve the community that we love the most. We’re excited to bring what we’ve learned from the Seattle beer scene back to here, and we can’t wait for you all to be a part of it.

6. What does Trek mean?

We came up with the name Trek Brewing Company because this is the next step in our craft beer journey. We want you to join us on this adventure, and we’re excited to be a part of your craft beer story.

As always, if we can answer any more questions for you, don’t hesitate to reach out on Facebook or by email! Or, just come on in to Trek this Saturday, and we’ll answer them in person! Can’t wait to see you there!

Cheers!
