Oh hey guys! Happy happy Thursday! We just have so much excitement going on at Trek that I want to take a minute and talk about our amazing upcoming events!

First off, TONIGHT is Trek Together for the Learning 4 Life Farm. Learning 4 Life is creating a 7- acre nonprofit farm in Johnstown, Ohio. The goal of Learning 4 Life Farm is creating a job training program for teens and young adults on the autism spectrum. They are meeting this goal with therapy alpacas, gardens and greenhouses. Come check out all the awesome work they are doing, and learn how to help at our Trek Together tonight. Bonus, Star City Sliders will be hanging out with us for dinner, and you already know his burgers are legendary.

Saturday is another REALLY exciting day for Trek. Our very first live music event is happening! We’re thrilled to welcome Tyy Perkins to be our first performer. He’ll take the stage about 6:30pm and plans to be there until about 10:00pm. Hogg Head’s Blue Smoke BBQ will be with us, so plan to come hungry. Both John and I recommend the Flyin Hawaiian, though you really can’t make a bad choice!

On June 29th we have another awesome event that you should be a part of. We’re Raising a Pint for Research!  This event benefits Nationwide Children’s Hospital cancer research. Our good friend Ward Porch is celebrating a year of being cancer free, and we’re thrilled to throw the party of the century. Ward was diagnosed with a Wilm’s Tumor, a pediatric renal cancer, at 18 months old. He faced major surgery to remove the tumor and his right kidney and 6 months of chemotherapy.

Research could lead to safer treatments with less harsh and lasting side effects and higher cure rates.  Did you know that less than 4% of the federal budget allocated for cancer research goes to pediatric cancer research? And yet, pediatric cancer is the number one leading cause of death by disease for children under 15 years old! Our kids are worth #morethan4.  

100% of your ticket purchase for this event will go to further pediatric cancer research.  And $1 from every pint sold and 10% of Tortilla Food Truck sales will go towards our fundraising goal too. Tickets and donations online here.
