Trek September Update 2
Hey everyone! As I’m sitting down tonight to write about our second September update, I’m thinking of all the things that have happened in the last two weeks that are new and I’m not quite sure where to start. I think it’s safe to say that we’ve officially hit the whirlwind part of this project, where every day a few new things get accomplished. It’s exciting. It’s exhausting. It’s equal parts fun and terrifying. After talking with people that have opened their own businesses, this is probably what life is going to be like from now on, and we’ve just got to jump in with both feet.
While not at the brewery, we’ve been working on our merchandise and our online store. Yesterday we picked up our order of shirts, and we are beyond psyched. We’ve got tee shirts in several different colors for men and women. We’ve got ¾ length baseball tees. We have sweatshirts. We’ve even got kids shirts and baby onesies. Our merch will also include hats in three styles, as well as glassware. The online store should go live in the next couple of weeks.
Over at Trek there have been a TON of changes. In the brewery area of the building we’ve had a lot happening within the last few days. The electricians have been working really hard adding outlets and tying into existing electrical, as well as adding new energy efficient LED lighting to the brewery area. They flipped the switch today, the lights came on and WHOA is it bright in there. We’ve been working with just construction lighting for so long that this was a welcome switch. Also in the brewery area we’ve continued to work on plumbing, and a roll up door was added to our loading dock area.
Our brand new ADA/Family bathroom has been all framed out for a couple of weeks, but just yesterday they cut the opening through to the lobby area. The plumbers have been working on the bathroom too, and we’re pretty close to being able to get to our finishes in there!
The taproom area has seen a lot of changes in the last two weeks. We’ve had carpenters in there working on trim and a few other special projects. The ceiling tiles have almost all been replaced, and they look SO much better. We’ve got the opening cut out for the patio door, we just need masonry to come back out to cut through the block. We are really excited about how much more light will be able to enter the taproom by adding the double patio doors.
We’ve also begun working on the patio. Unfortunately, after talking with a few experts, we’ve determined that the big pine tree in the middle of our patio space has to go. We’re pretty bummed about that, but it’s roots are growing up crazy high out of the ground. It makes the project very difficult to make a space that works for you and keeps the tree alive. We also had to relocate the patio doors and now the tree is directly in front of them. Don’t worry though, we still plan to make the space feel amazing, and we plan to plant new trees over at the brewery. By the way, if you’ve signed up for our Patio Party – please check your email, an update went out last week.
We’ve had a few delays in construction, but we’re moving quickly now. We’re counting down the days and we can’t wait to be able to announce an opening.

Cheers Friends, have a wonderful week!
