All About Trek

Happy Thursday everyone! It’s been an awesome/crazy week around here. We’ve had a lot of exciting updates – one of the most exciting being that our roadside sign is installed and looking awesome. Because the road sign was installed this week, we’ve picked up a LOT of new Facebook followers, and our analytics show us that a lot of people have checked out our awesome website too. We’re going to take this week to catch everyone up on what we’re all about.

We started this crazy journey about 9 years ago, with a homebrew system in our first apartment. However, we became serious about Trek about a year and a half ago, and we moved our two toddlers and our golden retriever across the country from Seattle, WA to Ohio in April. You can read all about our journey to Trek in this blog post.

At Trek, we believe that great people and great beer come together to do incredible things. We’re committed to both building and serving our community at Trek, and we want to do these things while keeping in mind our triple bottom line. We’re planning to start our Trek Together program from the very beginning of Trek, so if you know a community organization that could benefit from a happy hour at Trek, please fill out the inquiry form located here.

We’re planning a family-friendly taproom at Trek. We’ll have TV’s so you can watch your favorite teams, but if that’s not your kind of game, we’ll have plenty of board games available too. Our taproom will serve beer made right at Trek, first from our 1bbl pilot system and soon in our 15bbl brewhouse. We’re acquiring the 15bbl brewhouse from Seventh Son brewery, and their expansion isn’t finished yet. John has won medals across styles, and we’ll brew a wide variety of beers to have on tap at Trek.

We’ll have a limited in-house menu at the brewery. If what you’re hungry for isn’t on our menu – don’t fret. We’ll have food trucks available for food purchase, or you can order from a number of local restaurants. We’ll also allow you to bring in your own food, if you’d like!

We ran an Indiegogo Campaign during the month of June, and we exceeded our goal, and raised over $16k in 30 days. With the help of everyone who contributed to that campaign, we’re building a patio right in the front of the taproom. So you’ll be able to enjoy your beer outside.

If you’re planning to host a big party or a meeting, consider Trek for your venue! We’ve got an amazing event space and it’s all set up for you to bring in your own caterer. The room can host about 100 people, so we’d love to work with you in planning a big event.

We’re working towards an opening date – we don’t have it set yet, but it will be this fall.  We’re in the midst of construction, and like all construction projects, we’ve had a few slowdowns. It’s frustrating, because we’re SO excited to have you all in. While we’re waiting, we’re working hard to make sure that the space is the perfect third space for you. Unfortunately, we can’t have you in until we have beer to serve you, we can’t have beer to serve you until we have an Ohio license to brew it, and we can’t get our Ohio license until our construction is complete. We’ll keep you guys in the loop, I promise. As soon as we know when we’ll be opening, we’ll let you know!

Cheers friends! Have a great week!
