Trek November Update 2

Hey everyone! We’re wishing you a very happy Thanksgiving! We hope that you’re about to enjoy a day filled with family or friends as well as lots of delicious food and beer. Maybe you’re even following our Thanksgiving Beer Plan. We know you’ll need something to talk to your crazy aunt about, so why not update them on the latest at Trek?

In the last two weeks, a LOT has happened. First, and biggest, we’ve got floors. Floors in the taproom were ground down and sealed, and they look awesome. They’re also pleasingly squeaky, which is just a fun bonus. In the actual brewery we’ve got a brand new brewery floor. Why is it red? We’re glad you asked. This floor is a special brewery surface, a type of urethane concrete that is able to withstand the harsh brewery environment. The red color makes it easy to spot issues, and to find dropped fittings, gaskets, or other brewery equipment. This floor has been a long time coming, and we’re really glad that it is done and in place.

The second HUGE thing that’s happened is that (cue dramatic music) our pilot system is in its new home! The floors finished curing late Sunday night, and very early Monday morning John started setting up our pilot system. We had a brewery inspection Monday afternoon, and it went really well. The inspector submitted it to the higher powers, and we’re crossing our fingers that we’ll be approved to start brewing very soon.

If you’ve driven by the building recently, you might have noticed a lot of trucks outside. In addition to repairing the exterior of the building, the painters have been out and are getting things primed and caulked. Now that they are rolling, we’ll see big changes in the overall look of the building.

Finally, we’re so psyched to tell you that our new bar top arrived. The pink laminate is just a memory now, and in it’s place is a shiny new stainless-steel beauty of a bar. It’s beautiful, and it works so well with our vision for the space. We can’t wait for you to see it in person.

Happy Thanksgiving! We are truly thankful for each and every one of you. This is our big dream, and our hearts are full from the support you all show us every week. It’s been a crazy ride, and you’ve been right there with us. Trust us when we say, we know it’s hard to wait. We’re getting there though, one step at a time. It’s taken longer that we could have ever imagined, but we’re getting SO close now, so keep checking on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram for updates. We know it is going to be very worth the wait.

Cheers to you, friends!
