Just in case you guys had any doubt that craft-beer people are some of the BEST people, I’m going to spend the next few paragraphs erasing all doubts from your minds. You see, late last year (yeah we mean 2 months ago) a huge wildfire, the Camp Fire, became the sixth deadliest fire in the US, and it completely destroyed Northern California.

Sierra Nevada brewery, which happens to also be in Northern California, decided to brew Resilience IPA and donate 100% of all sales to the Camp Fire relief fund. Then, they sent up the brewers bat signal and invited any and all pro brewers in the country to join in on the effort. Trek Brewing Company is proud to be one of over 1400 breweries around the country that participated in this amazing project.

When we saw Sierra Nevada’s post, we immediately knew this was something we wanted to be a part of. After all, this is why we got into this whole brewing thing – to be able to do something good in the world. To be able to make a real difference while collaborating with some of the BEST in the industry, well, that was an opportunity we couldn’t pass up.

To participate, we got in touch with Sierra Nevada, who then sent the recipe our way. We agreed to brew it and donate 100 percent of the sales of this beer back to the Camp Fire relief fund. All told, this particular beer should sell more than 4.2 million pints, and raise more than 10 million dollars. All those funds will be headed to bring much needed relief to an area completely devastated by this disaster.

Across the country, the beer was brewed in over 1000 breweries on Giving Tuesday (the Tuesday after Thanksgiving). Some breweries have it out in their taprooms already (Cheers to you Three Tigers!). Trek Brewing Company joins them today.
