Holiday Fun!

Okay friends, it’s officially official that we’re in the final countdown before Christmas. I’m only panicking a little bit. . Every year I get to this point, and I think to myself, “Why didn’t I start this in September?” There are presents to buy, presents to wrap, cookies to bake, preschool Christmas shows to manage, it’s overwhelming and exhausting… and absolutely wonderful. I’d be a complete liar if I didn’t admit to you all how much I absolutely LOVE this magical season.

Much like our personal life, life at the brewery is also insanely busy over the next two weeks. We’ve got some really fun things planned for you guys and we’re looking forward to celebrating the most wonderful time of the year with all of you!

Tonight is the Trek Together for the Canal Market District. I’ve been absolutely amazed at the transformation taking place in downtown Newark, and this is largely due to the Canal Market District. The Canal Market District’s mission is “to improve community access to healthy, local food and promote economic development rooted in the county’s history, culture, and local bounty. We will improve the livelihood of local food producers and entrepreneurs, and encourage development of new food-related businesses and jobs.” Come share a few pints tonight in support of an amazing organization! $1 from EVERY PINT sold between 5pm and 9pm goes to Canal Market District.

Tomorrow, Dec 20th is national ugly Christmas sweater day. Conveniently, it’s also our Ugly Sweater Christmas Party. (I just love it when a plan comes together!) Wear your tackiest sweater and come on in to Trek on the 20th. We’ve got Chef Meagan’s Food Truck hanging out with us for the night, and if you missed her last time, I’m sure you’ve heard by now you really missed out. DELICIOUS, local, sustainable food.  Because this party is super legit, we’ve even got trophies for the following: Ugliest Sweater, Most Festive Sweater, Is That a Sweater?, Grandma’s Sweater, Most Clever Sweater, Best Couple Sweater, Most Homemade Sweater, and So Ugly Its Actually Kinda Cute Sweater. You know you want a trophy, AND bragging rights for all eternity (or at least until next year). Don’t miss out.

December 27th we’ve got live music with Scooby Doo. He’s a local artist who plays a little bit of everything. He’s become a Trek favorite, and we’re super excited to have him back on the 27th.

We’re also ending this year right where we started it, together at Trek. We’re having a New Years Eve Party from 5pm to 1am. Star City Sliders is pulling out all the stops with a special menu. We’ll have a Trek Hole tournament and board games in the taproom. We’ll also have a champagne toast at midnight. Come ring in the new year, new decade with us!

We’ll be taking a bit of a blog break for the next couple of weeks, but we’ll be back again in the New Year!

Finally, I wanted to run through our holiday hours for the next couple of weeks. In general we’re open normal hours, Wed-Monday. Weekdays 3pm to 10pm, weekends noon to 10pm. Specifically, we’re closed Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. We’ll be open New Years Eve (even though it’s Tuesday!) from 5pm till 1am to party with you! We’ll be closed on New Years Day.

Thanks for making this year incredible friends. We’re humbled and honored to be on this Trek with you.

Cheers!
