Trek January Update 1
Happy Thursday again friends! We hope your holidays were wonderful, and that you had a great time with family and friends. We’ve had a great couple of weeks at Trek, and we’d love to update you all with our progress.
Right before Christmas we received our Ohio Brewing Permit, and so on Christmas Eve we began brewing. John has filled all our pilot system fermenters, and at this point we’ve got a batch of Pale Ale, Cream Ale, and a Vanilla Stout currently fermenting away. As soon as they’re done in the fermenters they’ll be kegged and we’ll continue to brew. We’ll be brewing as often as we can to create enough beer for opening!
At the brewery we’ve been making some aesthetic changes to the space. We’ve had painters in, and we’re starting to see our vision for the taproom starting to really come together. The walls of the actual brewery area have all been painted with an epoxy paint that can withstand the wet environment of the brewery. It looks so much better than the glue covered walls!
We’ve also been working on a plan to update a lot of the old audio, visual and networking equipment in the building. This week we finalized the plan to upgrade the picture and sound quality in the taproom and we started running the necessary wire. We’re also psyched to improve wireless internet coverage throughout the building.
We’re finishing up plumbing and electrical work at the brewery, as well as some maintenance issues that come with an older building. But while we work on that and brewing, we’re about ready to start our hiring process. If you are interested in working at Trek, please stay tuned in the next week or so to our Facebook account. We’ll be putting up a post looking for applications, and we’d love to hear from you!
It has been a long time coming, but we can finally see the light at the end of the tunnel. We’re getting so close to being able to open Trek Brewing. We’re so ready for you all to come join us on the fun part of the journey.
Cheers friends!
