The Run With a Point Recap
Hey guys, happy Thursday! I can’t get over how incredible our 0.5k run went this past weekend. We had SO much fun, and I want to just take a brief moment and reflect on the awesomeness that was this event.
First of all… the run. It was perfect. We ran down the right side of the parking lot, across the front, all the way behind the brewery and then we reversed it. The run started and ended at the patio, and for those of you who were actually counting it came to 0.46k. This run was so legit that we even had a water station at the half-way point. Gail (the school age/Camp director for the YMCA) was heading up the water station, and provided much needed encouragement for the participants. John hung out at the road, taking pictures and keeping everyone safe. Mike and his lovely wife Desiree led the pack of runners, and Mia made sure everyone finished okay. I hung out at the start/finish line. Elizabeth was inside to get your refreshments. Tony Adams volunteered his incredible DJ services. He went above and beyond to make sure that everyone had an awesome time. In addition to being an amazing DJ, Tony Adams helped us over our goal of 25 days of day camp! Tony was our VIP of the day.
Team Houser won big, with both kids finishing first and second in the under 10 category, and Jeff finishing first in the over 10 category. Congrats on being super-awesome.
In addition to having an AWESOME time, we raised enough funds to cover 31 days of summer camp. That means that over SIX WEEKS of summer camp for a special needs child is completely covered thanks to the funds we raised at Trek.
We couldn’t have asked for a more perfect day weather wise. It was the first truly amazing spring day, and we loved that so many of you hung out after the race on the patio and ate some incredible food from Star City Sliders.
Thank you guys for making our first annual 0.5k incredible. We’re already excited about next year’s race, and we hope you’ll help us spread the word.
With your help we’re changing the world for the better, one beer at a time. Thanks for joining our journey. We love that you’re all on this trek with us.
It’s going to be another amazing weekend at the brewery. Tonight is Trek Together for Habitat for Humanity. Come on in between 5 and 9, grab a hotdog from Bdogz and drink for a good cause. We donate $1 from EVERY pint sold back to Habitat. Tomorrow is Poppy’s Roadside Diner, and if you haven’t had Poppy’s yet, you’re going to want to get here. His food is out of this world incredible. Saturday, Greek Village on the Go is coming back out, and I’m pretty psyched about the falafel that I’m going to get. Rumor has it that the weather is going to be PERFECT again, so both nights should be incredible patio nights.
Cheers guys. We’ll see you soon! It’s worth the Trek.
