Licking County Beer Trail
Hey there! Happy Thursday! It’s been a great week at Trek already, and we’re planning for an epic weekend. We’ve got an incredible new beer on tap- Wishing Star Robust Porter. It is full of incredible dark chocolate flavors and it is extremely delicious. We’re also REALLY EXCITED about Sophie’s Pierogi coming on Saturday. If you haven’t had this truck, you need to. We mean it. You’ll thank us later. In addition to all that awesome going on, we also launched the Licking County Beer Trail.
A new beer trail? Right here in Licking County? Absolutely. Our friends over at Explore Licking County have created an ale trail to showcase the TEN Licking County breweries.
You read that right… there are now TEN incredible Licking County Breweries. Trek is proud to be a part of this amazing collaborative community of awesome brewers. In addition to Trek, there’s Dank House and Bucks both in Newark. In Granville there’s Three Tigers and Granville Brewing Company. Johnstown has Galena Brewing. Heath is home to Earthworks and Homestead. Buckeye Lake Brewing Company is located in Buckeye Lake. Finally, 1487 brews out of Alexandria. Each one of these incredible spots has their own niche in the market, and each place has its own personality.
You can pick up your brand new passport at any of the taprooms, or at the Granville Inn (for 1487 Brewing) or the Sand Hollow Speakeasy (for Earthworks Brewing). You can also print it from home here.
The passport is a great way to check out ALL these incredible places. When you purchase something from the brewery, the bartender will then give you a stamp for your passport. Once you collect all ten stamps you take your completed passport to the Explore Licking County office and claim your prize.
This year, anyone who completes the trail will receive an awesome tee shirt with all the breweries on the back. As if that isn’t enough, your friends at Explore Licking County have made an additional challenge for you with the scavenger hunt. You need to complete the ten items in the hunt, and provide either physical or photographic evidence of your accomplishments. If you are one of the first twenty to complete the scavenger hunt, you’ll get to choose from some awesome brewery swag.
We’ve talked before about how the craft beer industry is full of collaboration and not competition. Having all these awesome breweries in Licking County is an amazing thing. It means more and more people are out enjoying incredible craft beer. Supporting small and local is supporting real families with real dreams. The more people that we can invite into the craft beer scene, the better. We’re working hard to change Licking County for the better, one beer at a time. Come and Join our Journey. It’s Worth The Trek.
Cheers friends. We’ll see you soon.
