You guys… I’m just so excited about this weekend I can’t even stand it. It’s my absolute favorite time of the year. We’ve got two little kids which just makes Christmas positively magical. John and I are loving seeing the joy of the season through their eyes.

When we first imagined Trek, we knew two things for sure. First, we knew we wanted Trek to become a community gathering place – a third place. We want all to feel welcome in the taproom. We want to be a family friendly zone, because we have kids, and occasionally we like to hang out with them. Secondly, we want Trek to be a driving force for good in the community. We are lucky beyond measure to be on this adventure. Not everyone can chase their dreams, and we know this. We feel strongly about supporting the community that surrounds us. This weekend these two main ideals come together in one incredible event – The Gingerbread House That Beer Built.

On Saturday December 15, from 1pm till 4pm come join us for some Gingerbread creativity. The ticket cost is $10, and it includes your Gingerbread kit and a 5 dollar donation to Habitat for Humanity Mid-Ohio’s The House That Beer Built. We’re going to have an awesome time, building gingerbread houses to raise money to build real houses. This family friendly event is made even better by the fact that Aloha Streatery (one of the TOP RATED food trucks in Central Ohio) will be our truck for the afternoon.

Announcing the first ever central Ohio, House that Beer Built!

The first of its kind in central Ohio, The House That Beer Built is a collaboration with central Ohio breweries and the community they serve. It is the hope that through this partnership between business and the community, we will educate about the importance of affordable housing and giving back while we have a great time!

The House That Beer Built will raise $100,000 to build a home in early summer of 2019 with Habitat for Humanity-MidOhio, central Ohio Breweries, and other business. The breweries in the central Ohio will come together as one community to fundraise and volunteer their time to build a new Habitat home in partnership with a deserving family in need. The build itself will kick off in the summer of 2019, once the funds have been raised.

Partners will pledge to contribute a minimum of $2,500 towards the completion of the home and help provide exciting volunteer opportunities for their employees and stakeholders.
