Football Food Drive
I’ve told you before that one of my very favorite things about bartending at Trek is that I get to talk to everyone at the bar. I love learning different things about everyone’s lives and I love talking about what’s going on in our community.
A couple of weeks ago I was talking with someone who let me know that Food Pantry Network of Licking County is going to be in need of help this year. One of the major funding sources for the food pantry has restructured their giving, and the pantry will lose a significant portion of their funds.
John and I have been brainstorming how we can help, and we’ve come up with a great plan. This year, we’ll be doing a Football Food Drive during Ohio State games all season long. We’re asking that you be a fan and bring a can. You give us a canned food item, we’ll give you $1 off your pint (limit $1 off per pint). Check all those cans in the way back of your pantry that you’re probably never going to use, make sure they aren’t expired, and then bring them into Trek on game day. This is an easy way to be an awesome person, help out your community, and save some $ on beer. It’s a no-lose situation.
The food pantry is in specific need of canned fruits, veggies, meats and soups. Trek will donate all the cans at the end of each month. We’re going to do this ALL SEASON LONG because we want to make the largest impact that we can.
There are many people in Licking County alone that are going hungry. The Food Pantry Network of Licking County serves more than 4 million pounds of food to more than 300,000 individuals every single year. We all have the opportunity to make a difference here.
We hope you’ll join us to watch the Buckeyes at Trek. We’ll have the sound on for all the games, and we’ve got the best place to watch in Licking County. We’ve got room for your whole group to come and watch. We’ve even got a play area for the kids.
Come on in to Trek, join our journey and help us change the world for the better.
