A Month of Thanks

Hey friends! Happy pre-Friday to all of you! Somehow we’ve made it to November and I can’t believe how fast it’s all flying by. We’ve got a really exciting month ahead, and since it’s the month of Thanksgiving, we put a lot of effort into finding great community organizations to give back to this month in our Trek Together nights. As such, we’ve got a full month of awesomeness.

Our Trek Together program is the easiest way to give back to the community. All you need to do is come in and drink some beer. That’s it. Trek donates $1 from every single pint sold between 5pm and 9pm back to the partner organization. It’s an awesome way to be an awesome human and learn something about all the good going on in Licking County.

Tonight kicks off our November Trek Together’s with the Licking County Community Center for 60+ adults. “The Licking County Community Center for 60+ Adults is committed to enriching the lives of adults 60 and older in Licking County by promoting lifelong learning, social interaction, and confident living. We provide engaging educational, cultural, and social programs each fostering new and meaningful relationships while encouraging independence.” Licking County has one of the largest senior populations in the state of Ohio. Coming to our Trek Together tonight is a great start to a month of giving back.

Next Thursday, the 14th is Trek Together for Ohio Bison Baseball. The Ohio Bison is a new baseball league that is a part of the Licking County Family YMCA. The YMCA does incredible things for our county, and one of the things the YMCA does best is youth development. The Ohio Bison is a new organization formed from the Voodoo and the Settlers. The Bison consist of youth teams ranging from 9-U to 18-U as well as two new collegiate level teams. The Bison play at Don Edwards Ball Park, which has become both a community gathering spot, and a tourist destination in the community of Newark. Yes, this night also happens to be the Browns vs Steelers game. Yes, we’ll continue our Trek Together through the end of the game, so come ready to watch some football and have some pints for a good cause.

On November 21 we’ll host a Trek Together for the Granville Co-Op Preschool. The Co-Op has been in operation for 75 years. Through a play-based curriculum and cooperation between parents and teacher they inspire a lifelong love of learning in their students.

Our final Trek Together event for November happens at our first anniversary party on Black Friday. We’ve partnered with the Food Pantry Network of Licking County for the ENTIRE day. We’ve got lots of awesome things happening on that day, great live music by Scooby Doo, great sliders by Star City Sliders, and lots of awesome beer surprises. Plus, we’re giving $1 per pint back to the Food Pantry. Make sure to mark your calendars so that you don’t miss this party.

We already know that beer is good. Drinking beer that DOES good is even better. We’re making the world a better place, one beer at a time. Come and join our journey. It’s worth the Trek.
